The waves of the Mediterranean, lapping at the baby’s body, I can’t let go of it. Little survives an image like this. Only the tears survive, in the end. Tears are what prevents me from killing God. While there are tears such as these, there might a God.
Sónia Barbosa
Dostoevsky stated that the inner struggle between doubt and faith would continue until the end of his life.
Sónia Barbosa, one of Teatro Viriato’s Associated Artist, reflects on these and other questions in her trilogy "Project Karamázov". This time, she focuses on Aliocha in "Aleksei ou a Fé" (Aleksei or Faith).
What can we still believe in?
In memory? In childhood? In the constant presence of death, and the power in ritualising it?
