In the Portuguese parliament, between the representatives' benches and the tribune where members of Government sit, there is, right in the middle of the room, an isolated secretary where two clerks do their work. Their mission, to transcribe everything that is said within those walls. Everything is recorded through their fingers: speeches, interventions, asides, insubordinations and even gestures made. Hundreds of thousands of pages that document debates, constituent assemblies, voting, and all advances and setbacks concerning social, labour and human rights.
“Guião para um país possível” is a show created based on those records, that tries to tell the story of the last fifty years of our democracy.
