The new co-creation by mala voadora and O Rumo do Fumo joins stage director Jorge Andrade and choreographer Miguel Pereira at the helm of the piece's artistic direction. They seek to explore gestural speech in the densification of interpretation of the intrigue/enigmas intrinsic to the writing of Oscar Wilde, specifically in his play Lady Windermere's Fan, whose universe serves as a starting point for the construction of Wilde.
Fruit of an unusual interaction between Jorge Andrade and Miguel Pereira, the piece was co-produced by Teatro Viriato and Culturgest, and might begin as a theatre play and end up as a dance. Or maybe it'll start as dance and end as a theatre play. Or both. Or neither. Wilde is a show with text and no text - elegant, conventional, apolitical, political and radical. And wild. Wilde has a message, it entertains, it bores, it disappoints, it excites and doesn't want to say anything special. Or maybe it does.
