WARM-UP — Short Pieces Night, initiated by Teatro Viriato at the last edition of New Age, New Time (NANT), is back with the same purpose of giving a platform to both emerging and established choreographers and dance companies. Now in partnership with Teatro Académico de Gil Vicente (TAGV) in Coimbra, we continue to highlight new choreographic languages and experimentation, promoting the renewal of the choreographic scene in Portugal.
As in the first edition, artists may apply with short choreographic works or excerpts that stand alone, lasting between 15 and 20 minutes, which explore technical simplicity and foster a direct relationship between the body, the stage space and the audience.
The application period runs from 29 April to 22 June 2026, via the form available on the Teatro Viriato website. The selected proposals will have the opportunity to serve as the ‘warm-up’ for NANT in 2027, organised by Teatro Viriato, as well as to perform on TAGV’s stage.
