W-EST_WHERE

Dance

May brings, to Teatro Viriato, the second meeting of project W-Est_Where (previously foreseen and announced for February, 2011) that promotes artistic residences, formative lectures, presentation of performances and conferences with artists from East and West Europe.
W-Est_Where is a project of choreographic cooperation between France (Compagnie JASMINA), Portugal (Teatro Viriato), Croatia (HIPP/Dance Week Festival) and Hungary (Trafó). Its goal is to promote, stimulate and facilitate experience exchange between the various partner structures, as well as supporting the circulation of choreographic works, contributing to the visibility of Contemporary Dance in Eastern Europe.
Renowned choreographer Milko Šparemblek is a confirmed presence, alongside Rui Horta and João Fiadeiro, in this second edition, moderated this year by journalist Tiago Bartolomeu Costa. Also under this project, Teatro Viriato receives a Croatian performer challenged to create a dance solo about Identity, having the city of Viseu as an inspirational starting point.
