Vissaium* is a show, performed in transit through the city streets, that invites us to enjoy Viseu's archaeological patrimony. Travelling from Rua Direita to the roman wall at Rua Formosa and Museu Grão Vasco, we'll discover ancient stones, yet unexplored archaeological sites and artefacts that tell stories of a place that has always been shared by many people who have lived here and here left their mark. On this voyage one can meet a soldier, a Lusitanian woman that can read stones, and a specialist in theories that need to be proven because, after all, archaeologists have primarily questions and History is not an exact and unchanging science.
* Name of this city in pre-Roman and Roman times, which gave origin to its modern day version: Viseu.
Notes: We recommend the use of comfortable shoes. In the eventuality of adverse weather conditions the show will be performed at Teatro Viriato.
