VISITAS DANÇADAS

Dance

Going against the idea that you only need one visit to know a museological space, Teatro Viriato once again proposes an alternative voyage through Museu Grão Vasco with a choreographed tour. In Visitas Dançadas, project authored by choreographer Aurélie Gandit and performed by Leonor Barata, the audience is invited to reread the artworks in the museum by making use of eye perception, movement and humour.
Throughout the journey, the performer comments on the paintings and sculptures that fill the exhibit rooms. The discourse has a surprising rhythm, loquacious, sometimes fast, where the play on words opens up to emotion and nonsense. This project allows for a different approach when reading not only the art pieces but also the museological space itself.
