THEATER
In what do truck driver think during all the kilometers they go through? What happens with these men during their journeys? What travelers are these and how do they mitigate their solitude? If they had to stop driving, would they bear it? And their families - is there a place for them in these stories?
Constructed from an extensive recall of life and "road" stories of truck drivers, the show explores the poetic possibilities of those lives in permanent displacement, lives of kilometers of solitude as well, of physical distance from their families, from passages, of fleeting nights, of a geographic knowledge from highways, national roads, restaurants at the side of the road, hotels. A show that is a sort of manual from a singular traveler, at the same time talking about that Portuguese disquiet that we know so well - that of departing; and, being in the exterior, the will to return, to depart again, impelled by that thing that makes us drive kilometers, after kilometers, continuously.
This show premiered in october of 2015, and resulted from an invite from Teatro Viriato and from the company Patinter to Teatro do Vestido, recognizing the unpaired work that this collective has been developing from the recall of testimonies and life stories.
