VIAGEM A PORTUGAL - PARAGEM VISEU, A ÚLTIMA PARAGEM OU O QUE NÓS ANDÁMOS PARA AQUI CHEGAR

THEATER

Premiere
We borrowed from José Saramago the title f his work to dive, like him, in Portugal - in its past as in its present.
Departing from the family stories of the members of Teatro do Vestido team, located in various regions of Portugal - Minho, Ribatejo, Alentejo, Beira Alta, Algarve - we launch with this project a search for the answer to our all-time question - how did he arrive where we are?, but diving this time in the interior(s) of the country, its landscapes, people, historic legacies and presents. What heritages of 48 years of dictatorship remain there or persist? When the big jumps of social mobility were made that made us reunite as a team in the country's capital, all having college degrees, unlike the generations preceding us? What Portugal is this that we inhabit and where we came from? Hence the pertinent question from José Saramago: "After all, what traveling is this?"
Poetics travels, poetic geographies, cartographies from our life stories, varied genealogies from the four corners of the country. Welcome to the possible portrait of a Portugal at various colors, various velocities, various places.
