PREMIER
Conceived from the monologue O Contrabaixo, by Patrick Suskind, in this new creation, the choreographers António Cabrita and São Castro, from Companhia Paulo Ribeiro, intend to exploit the metaphor established between the hierarchy of an orchestra and the organisation of society.
In Um solo para a Sociedade, the two choreographers seek to deepen reflection as to how people occupy a common territory, addressing problems that guide the human condition, such as love, freedom, choice, identity; expanding gesture as an elaborated movement and exteriorizing this reflection. A confrontation of the id and others, of noise and silence, in a sound visible to the body.
A solo before society, the audience. An audience which observes the individual, a performance that observes society.
