THEATER
Built upon some intense six years of research, Um Museu Vivo de Memórias Pequenas e Esquecidas journeys across more than eighty years of Portuguese history, focusing on three crucial moments/periods: the Estado Novo Dictatorship, the Revolution of April 25th 1974 and the revolutionary process that followed.
This incomparable theatre event - that includes a revolutionary dinner somewhere along the line - unfolds over a five hour period, punctuated by life stories, objects, documents, and other items, collected by Joana Craveiro. Journalist Inês Nadais described it as "an almost 'detective-like' reconstruction of a good portion of Portugal's twentieth century."
Um Museu Vivo de Memórias Pequenas e Esquecidas was considered one of the best theatre shows in 2014, by newspapers Expresso and Público, and was nominated for a Show of the Year award by Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores. It won the Audience Choice Award at the Festival de Almada, 2015. Since its premiere, in 2014, it has been touring around Portugal, but was also staged in London, Paris, Santiago de Compostela, Santos and Belo Horizonte.
