EXHIBITION
BoCA - Bienal de Artes Contemporâneas will be extended to Viseu through this exhibition by choreographer and dancer Tânia Carvalho. In this biennial, the artist will show a more unknown facet of her work: drawings as catalyst of her scenic ideas. With new drawings, the exhibition operates as an extension of her choreographic work, as a representation of places of the imagination, impossible to materialize as dancers.
In Toledo, the choreographies of the bodies, that at first glance seem frivolous, are at the same time carnivalesque and macabre, as if taken from rituals, comics or horror books. With her drawings, Tânia Carvalho continues to question the human condition, loneliness and its place in the world.
The biennial, with artistic direction by John Romão, brings together fine art, scenic arts, performance and music artists, and takes place in various cultural institutions and public venues. Many of the artists experiment new inroads in their body of work.
