PREMIERE
Regarding the 20 years of reopening Teatro Viriato to the public, Companhia Paulo Ribeiro was challenged to create a piece that portrays striking moments from the Portuguese society and culture through the last couple of decades. The choreographer Luiz Antunes in collaboration with António Cabrita and São Castro think the body through the word, looking to create an artistic object where the word gives place to images and the body is the counterpoint in the narrative, where the depicted word reveals itself in the abstract of the body.
Six figures on stage that between the slow and the explosion - generator of what is happening - travel through moments of solitude, of rage, of judgements summarily physical, crudes loaded of new dogmas, of new ways of morality. Scenes that by happening are being real, are a guarantee of the inevitable realization of something.
If the sentence was to dance and the movement to the word, also they have been together in those moments that marked the last years, where ideas and beliefs have been moving, where it was made, danced and called History. To work for the moment, what can be seen, and not what the writings say about what happened, because in the writings there is no real emotion.
