Phil Elverum is an artist from the city of Anacortes, in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. His recordings, released under the name of "The Microphones" and "Mount Eerie", are a part of an artistic output that ranges from managing a record label to co-organising festivals, as well as self-published books, photography, and painting. But he is known by his surprisingly original music, since his first experiences with 90s tapes up to the immersive sound diary of "Microphones in 2020".
The projects he returns with to Portugal, after almost a decade, is an album made up of only one song with 44 minutes and 44 seconds, as he says, "a long song recorded nowhere". It is the first time in 15 years he claims back the pseudonym "The Microphones" to launch a new album.
