WORKSHOP
A TEATRO VIRIATO AND LUGAR PRESENTE INITIATIVE
There are museums for clothing, cars, furniture, sculptures, paintings and movies... Is there a museum for dance? How can one actually enshrine dance? And where does one find the various movements that make up the numerous dances created in the past? Through the observation of art exhibited at Museu Grão Vasco, what bridges can be erected between the body of today and the body of long ago?
In an entertaining environment, marked by past and present, choreographer Mário Afonso proposes an encounter with Dance as a means of artistic expression that archives and indexes the history of movement and that uses the body as a tool for the discovery of the world.
Ready yourselves for a journey through the gyrations of medieval dance transforming into contemporary dance or for improvisation that will make images of Renaissance Dance spring up in your minds.
