Premiere
After staging O Avarento ou A última festa and Padam Padam, we once again return to a text written by J.M. Vieira Mendes. Terceira Idade is an answer to typical traditional comedies where doors are used in abundance. And, since Teatro Praga's venues have no use for backdrops that include walls, doors, windows, et al., the comedy of doors can transcend into a comedy of identities: an actor who is so many different people, who sheds and wears different names with the same ease with which he ingresses and egresses through a doorway. In Terceira Idade the actors are already retired before they even start. Reminiscent of a time of battles, they steal memories of Vietnam jungles and cities under siege from war movies, while they protest in the name of a proper pension.
