THEATER
presentation locales Farmácia Marques, Farmácia Portugal, Barbearia Avenida (at Av. Alberto Sampaio) and Barbearia Marques (at Rua Miguel Bombarda)
For the first time ever, project Teatro das Compras, with the previous eight editions performed in Lisbon, has a decentralised version held in the city of Viseu.
Teatro das Compras aims to transform four shops fraught with history and memory into living places, reminding us all that there are locales that, thanks to their unique identity within the city where they stand, should not be allowed to disappear.
In each shop a short show is staged, inviting audiences to rediscover those spaces and explore their ancient memories.
Each shop will be assigned to a guest author and a guest performer, who will, after some local research, imagine a fiction inspired by the identity of that same establishment. The public travels between the various shops, now turned into miniature theatres, witnessing a unique, out-of-the-ordinary, event happening in places of their day-to-day lives.
