In 1992, two Instituto Politécnico de Viseu students proposed a challenge to Jorge Fraga, giving birth to the group Teatro da Academia. The desire to live and breathe theatre compelled them to, in that same year, create their first show - Hió!... Hió.
Throughout its existence, many were the elements that influenced and were influenced by theatre, making Teatro da Academia a veritable cultural brand, not only in a school context, but also to the community at large. Authors like Brecht, Jorge de Sena, Kafka, Garrett, Vergílio Ferreira, Mrozeck, Büchner, Alberti, Paul Auster, Jarry, Goldoni, Strindberg and Wedekind, all took their place in the group's repertoire.
To celebrate its 25 years of existence, stage director Fraga compiled a myriad of images representative of some of the most notable moments in the history of Teatro da Academia.
