“Tatabitato” is a meeting place between children and their families where music serves as the means of expression, discovery and construction of happiness in one’s life. These workshops are designed by musicians Ana Bento and Bruno Pinto, that take inspiration from Teatro Viriato’s programme and that bring us, with each session, a unique voice-body-movement-object dynamic built from a varied music repertoire.
On November 8th its special Universal Music session focuses mainly on the artistic and life philosophy of Hermeto Pascoal, one of the biggest names in Brazilian music, also known as ‘O Bruxo’ (lit. The Warlock). From his musical exploration of non-conventional objects, toys, but also musical instruments – some of them quite exotic and handcrafted – without prejudices regarding genre, style or technique, pour forth a type of music that embraces every sound.
The special World Music session, on December 6th, takes form as a sort of journey, searching for sounds and rhythms that jump across frontiers and celebrate the cultural diversity of our planet. Voices, melodies, percussions and movement – all inspired by different music traditions from far away, and yet so close to our hearts and hears.
