Tangerina is a concert that invites us to invent what has already been invented, breathing life into words and sounds. Inspired by the book A Invenção do Dia Claro by Almada Negreiros, the artists recover the metaphor of the tangerine (that, in the book, rolls from its basket into the sea in order to explore the world) and use it to set off in search of new worlds.
Tangerina is a journey through the universe of words, simultaneously poetry, prose and poetic art, spoken in the "tone of a young child speaking to his mother", and was the end result of a workshop held exclusively at Casa da Música (Oporto) during a period of two years.
Tangerina, now under the artistic direction of Joana Providência, is ready to be presented before an audience and brings with it an album with music that, just like the writings of Almada Negreiros, is as simple as it is sophisticated, organically asking the public to get involved so they can enjoy the sweet and fresh taste of this Tangerina.
