A show constructed with poems and texts penned by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, one of the principal contemporary Portuguese poets. Between the freedom of each syllable, an undeniable characteristic of the writer's work, Gira Sol Azul makes manifest their own poem and a game of sounds, akin to those that one makes when learning to swim in an ocean of silence.
"Sophia" brings with it the third album by Colectivo Gira Sol Azul, filled with music - new tracks and new arrangements - that audiences can readily identify as pop/rock, but which is also influenced by jazz harmony, classic music and folk or ethnic music. The stage show is built around the album's repertoire, the end-result of a collaboration between the performers and Joana Craveiro, artistic director of this endeavour.
