Known for his work as publisher developed under the netlabel Merzbau — who released names of inescapable dimension as a B Fachada or a Noiserv — Tiago Sousa has been proving to be, since his solo debut six years ago, one of the most fascinating portuguese musicians, "existing above the boundaries of genres" as written by João Lopes (Sound and Vision).
After releasing Walden Pond's Monk through north-american publisher, Immune, he now presents his first solo piano album Samsara, under the same publisher. An intricate record of complex narrative, which takes the concept of eastern philosophy to build a bold and exciting piece that strikes the audience with how harmoniously Tiago Sousa manages to balance opposites: 18th century romanticism and contemporary music of the 20th century.
