On the 28th of March 2023, legendary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away after valiantly fighting cancer. In the years immediately preceding his death, Sakamoto was unable to play live. Despite that fact, at the end of 2022, he gathered all his strength to gift the world one last concert: just him and his piano. Curated by Sakamoto himself, the twenty chosen tracks wordlessly narrate his life through music. The selection encompasses his entire career, from the Yellow Magic Orchestra era to his magnificent movie soundtracks, and even his more meditative album, 12.
Sakamoto bears his soul through his music, knowing that this is the last opportunity to personally bring his art to the stage. In collaboration with Festival Internacional de Música da Primavera / PROVISEU, Teatro Viriato shows the film "Ryuichi Sakamoto | OPUS". A celebration of the life of a true artist.
