Music
In the year of Conservatório Regional de Música de Viseu's 25th anniversary, Teatro Viriato hosts, within the ambit of the Open Space initiative, a piano recital by Madalena Soveral.
Throughout her activity as a concert artist and researcher, the pianist has given singular attention to the XX century Portuguese piano repertoire, working together with many composers and performers. Since 1980, Madalena Soveral has appeared regularly in solo concerts, with orchestral accompaniment or as part of several chamber music formations.
She studied under her mother, Hélia Soveral, a principal figure in the history of Conservatório Regional de Música de Viseu, and also under Reine Gianoli, Marian Rybicki and Claude Helffer. In 1986, she received the 900 Musicale Europeo award.
