"Plano Comensal de Leitura" (Joint Reading Plan) is a show that establishes a dialogue with the work "Vamos comprar um poeta" (Let's buy a poet) by Afonso Cruz. In the consumerist society portrayed in the book, in which everything can be measured and bought, the protagonist, a snippety and observant teenager, chooses to buy a poet. Poets are neither expensive nor dirty unlike painters or sculptors , but they can transform a lot of things. And the presence of this curious pet will, little by little, transform her family's own reality.
Based on this narrative, the play full of both humour and love invites us to reflect on the role of theatre and art in discussing themes such as politics, the difference between price and value, or beauty and utopia.
