THEATER

premiere
A painting that tells a story. A museum with history. A painter with a story. A painting that tells the story of a man. He was born Simon and died Peter. He went from Bethsaida to Rome. He was a fisherman and the first pope. The museum is Museu Grão Vasco. It's a national museum and is already 100 years old. The painter is Vasco Fernandes. It is unknown if he was the son of a miller, or an apprentice of Raphael. It is unknown if he was religious or a bohemian. He was the first painter to sign his works.
The Painel de S. Pedro, an oil painting on wood, combines painting, the museum and the painter in one big story.
This play casts a new look at this work of art, seeing what's inside, its surroundings while searching for the hands that painted it.
