Pedras de parar e da urgência

“Pedras de parar e da urgência” falls under the purview of the Conversas Emergentes project, an initiative by Companhia Caótica, in collaboration with Plano Nacional das Artes, that traversed the entire country, reflecting on the challenges faced when trying to programme for our younger generations. 

This publication gives form to thoughts developed throughout this collective process, that encompassed residencies, laboratories, dialogue and interviews with children, pre-teens and teenagers. 

Written by sociologist Rui Telmo Gomes, the book analyses the project’s trajectory highlighting concerns and challenges faced by the cultural operators that make up the ecosystem of performing arts aimed at younger audiences, inviting us to think about the present and the future of this sector.

By hosting this book launch, Teatro Viriato strengthens its connection with this field of reflection and creation, continuing to pay particular attention to cultural programming for our youths, a preoccupation many times shown in the past, for example last October with the presentation of the “Arte Pedras Liberdade” documentary, also born from the Conversas Emergentes project.
