CONTEMPORARY CIRCUS
Unsteady stacks of cut wood boards, a rope, a table and a trapeze define the scenic space, where Hugo Oliveira and Sage Bachtler build the abstract world of two beings. Otus offers us a unique perspective, a glimpse from their lives, their motivations, their relationships and habits. Resorting to circus, to physical theater, to movement, to the clown technique, the slow explores the tension, the space between objects on stage and the wood world in which they live. A world that - immerse in its own nuances and undertaken by acrobatics, juggling, rope, trapeze and personal manipulation - unveils itself.
The work of Hugo Oliveira and Sage Bachtler distinguishes itself by rooting their works in human nature, creating a unique physical language, multilayered and interdisciplinary, where the precise technique stands out.
