« "Orgia" is a contemporary tragedy about diversity, personal identity, and the search for freedom in an oppressive, controlling and regulating society. It's not a pornographic or erotic story; "Orgia" is a many-voiced poem, it is a play of words conjugated by flesh. It is expected from the audience that they hear more than they see. The characters are ideas to be heard, expressing Pasolini's favourite subjects. In his Manifesto for a new theatre, the author supports a third practice between the bourgeois theatre and the experimental theatre, the theatre of the word that refers explicitly to the theatre of Athenian democracy, completely skipping the entire tradition of the bourgeois theatre. The theatre of the word doesn't have any spectacular, mundane interes,; its only interest is cultural, in keeping with the author's, the actors', and the audience's, whose gathering fulfils a Cultural Rite. »Nuno M Cardoso

At the end of the first presentations of "Orgia", Pasolini, would talk with the audience about Theatre as a dialogue and not as a Mass Culture consumer product. In keeping with these democratic moments of sharing, these conversations in the spirit of the Athenian Agora are created to (re)discover (new) poetic and political senses in the author's work.
