“Only Duos” is a programme by Companhia Nacional de Bailado (CNB) for exclusive circulation in Portugal, celebrating the strength and intimacy of the meeting between two presences on stage. Timeless, this cycle of duets gathers creations from choreographers that explore multiple choreographic idioms, from classic to contemporary, highlighting how rich a dance performance with two participants can be.
This programme brings us three creations that will be made part of CNB’s repertoire: “Le Spectre de la rose”, by Michel Fokine, a duet from ballet “Le Parc”, by Angelin Preljocaj, and “White Swan Dream”, by Filipe Portugal. It also includes new creations, premiering during this cycle, by Miguel Ramalho, Wubkje Kuindersma and Joseph Toonga.
This is a unique opportunity to contemplate dance in its purest state, through the tenderness and intensity that only two people can share.
