WORKSHOP
Capturing and representing movement has been one of the greatest challenges faced by artists from any generation. From the observation of several rehearsals of three dance pieces, and also some classic references, Vanessa Chrystie invites participants to explore movement in painting.
Throughout three months, participants will have the opportunity to scrutinise the work of choreographer Clara Andermatt, choreographers and performers São Castro and António Cabrita and choreographer João Santos Martins while exploring the techniques of Matisse, Degas and Toulouse Lautrec.
With academic background in illustration, ceramic, painting, sculpture, drawing and jewelry design, Vanessa Chrystie has exhibited her works individually and collectively and participated in several contests both national and international.
