Night falls. Three characters find themselves confined in space. It's dark. No sight, no sound. Suddenly a noise that begs for light, a few silhouettes, a flame, a ball. These are the protagonists. Each one tries to populate the night, making an investment on the order of things. Plucked from the night, the figures finally appear. Visages that find each other.
"Nuit" is a contemporary circus show with a causal, mechanistic rhythm that maintains a close relationship with the spectator. Actions are seldom produced, stemming instead from contingencies. And when they actually are produced, they create unexpected effects: new contingencies. The way is obvious, but the destination is not. And it's the actions' perpetually shifting destination that sustains the wanted dramatic tension.
