NEW AGE, NEW TIME

New Age, New Time, is a cycle of Portuguese contemporary dance. In 2019, we present the 8th edition and, with it, always a renovated sense of the cycle. Along with the divulgation of Portuguese dance, it interests us to promote infinite possibilities of readings, of relations and of discourses that, in each edition, the programme allows to develop. It's a moment propitious to the discussion of the situation of contemporary dance nowadays in Portugal, in harmony with a closer relation with the public.
In New Age, New Time, dance meets diversified aesthetics, proposals of interconnection with other disciplines and it shows that, above all, it develops ways to see the world, without the fear of breaking barriers. In the public it interests us to stimulate the construction of a structured reflection and thought about contemporary dance and that's why we present the space Lugares do Público na Dança Contemporânea (Places of the Public in Contemporary Dance) coordinated by Paula Varanda.
