Premiere
Never before staged in Portugal, Alfred Musset's Não se Brinca com o Amor is a perennial classic, a true drama about love, pride and intransigent youth.
The play, set in the XVI century, describes the tragic romance between Camille, a young woman who abandons the convent, and her cousin Perdican. With a mixture of pride and innocence both challenge destiny by treating love spitefully. By the time the curtain falls a blameless woman dies and the protagonists are utterly separated, unable to live true feelings of happiness.
Não se Brinca com o Amor has a supporting cast that promises to alleviate the dramatic tension with fun, or even humorous, parts.
