Music
Mutrama is a project of recreation of traditional Madeira music, with musical direction of the guitarist André Santos, who invited a group of musicians to bring to life these songs, the majority of them lost in time.
To the initial trio, composed of André Santos in the guitars and the Madeira chordophones (Braguinha, Rajão and Viola de Arame), António Quintino in the contrabass and Joel Silva in the drums and percussions, gathered the voices of Maria João, Salvador Sobral and Mariana Camacho, the soprano saxophone of Desidério Lázaro, the tenor saxophone of Francisco Andrade, and Graciano Caldeira, also in the Madeira chordophone, Braguinha.
What Mutrama represents is also a reconciliation with the past. And, with it, the return of a Portuguese songbook that is almost unknown.
