CONTEMPORARY CIRCUS
From an old dream of a professor, João Garcia Miguel, and a student, João Paulo Santos, ensues the show Mundo Interior (Inner World). Based on the book of the same name by Jalâi Rûmi, both artists build a play in which the words, the body and the music, are what make it happen.
The words convey an idea but the inner world is much, much deeper. As if the word were the tip of an iceberg and the rest, which is submerged, was what it really meant to say, think, feel or see. In this sense, this show covers the discovery of the unknown inner world, at the same time confusing it and shattering it into fragments. A new circus show that questions social formatting and the constant search for security and tranquillity, which is illusory and separates us from the notion of the unknown and the possibility of discovery.
