Created in 1981, the iconic piece by choreographer Maguy Marin was inspired by texts penned by Samuel Beckett: by the stillness his characters search, but never quite manage to attain.
Making use of an abrupt theatrical language, that transforms and embodies ridiculous, violent and distressing events, “May B” is a reflection on the complexity of the human condition, approaching themes of longing, desire, movement and identity.
Staged throughout the world for more than forty years, “May B” remains a truly unique and timeless creation. A veritable masterpiece of contemporary dance.
