Matriz Arcaica da Sublimação de um Corpo is a dance piece, created for seven performers and one musician, about one's search for self-knowledge and the ability to transcend oneself. What repercussions can this necessity have at social and global levels?
Espousing the need to search for a revolution from the revelation of who we truly are and how we want to co-create ourselves, the choreographer uses the stage to explore the strong physicality in the relationship between voice and movement, through an hybrid language, in which the body serves as vehicle for a space-shaping energy that produces a whole sheaf of linked experiences, like in a veritable alchemical process.
In this piece, Pedro Ramos focuses on verticality as a means to rebut, in one fell swoop, the mysteries emerging from birth, life and death.
