After the workshop A Voz Pública (2017), Sara de Castro returns for the constitution of a choir of spoken voice that will be developed through an intense and rigorous voice work. A large community group that will participate in the new show by the director entitled Madalena and that will premiere in February of 2020 at Teatro Viriato. Madalena, based on the figure of Maria Madalena and the cultural constructions associated to her, aims to dive into the feminine universe in a scenic discourse that will have the co-creation of the interpreters, and of everyone involved, in the scope of a participative process.
The many voices of the choir group that inhabit the story of Madalena, that populate the scene and create a sonorous space, revealing themselves as a myriad of Madalenas. A joint voice composed by various voices with different registers, exacerbating the vocal and expressive freedom of each one, exploring the limits of the collective coexistence, believing in a group that is formed by specific individuals and that that group is the more singular has more diverse the group of individuals will be. On stage, they will be with the renowned actresses Ana Brandão, Carla Galvão, Crista Alfaiate, Madalena Almeida and Paula Só.
