From the only existing fragment of Arianna, the unfinished opera of Claudio Monteverdi, Michèle Anne De Mey created a choreography tailored for the exceptional Gabriella Iacono, for some time now her main performer.
Although, initially, Michèle Anne De Mey made a more literal choreographic translation of the text, it ended up being used as means for a vast exploration of themes as abandonment and the loss of someone dear. Gabriella Iacono masterfully plays the tragic figure of Arianna, devastated by betrayal.
