WORKSHOP
Working the raw materials of theatrical creation, having as a staring point the show Filhos do Retorno, is Teatro do Vestido's offer in Laboratório de uma História Problemática. Joana Craveiro challenges participants to dive deep into the memories and problematic history of portuguese colonialism (and stories and memories from the decolonisation process after 1974), in order to build and reconstruct new/old memories as well as their performative presentation.
The lab will use the participants' personal experiences, from their archives, their interests, the books they own, their movies and concerns. Teatro do Vestido aims to stare history in the eyes, ask questions and make theatre out of it.
Note: to participate in this laboratory it is not mandatory to have lived a story or having a personal relation with it. An inquisitive mind and restless spirit suffice. Participants should bring some material that they've collected, or that belongs to their families, as a means of inspiration.
