LA CINQUIÈME POSITION

Dance

A myriad of variations on the lovely song about the nymph that inhabited the Lorelei Rock, on the Rhine, make up La Cinquième Position, a chronicle narrated by a top performer, that intentionally revisits some of the greatest names in Classic and Contemporary Dance, such as: Joseph Russillo, Anne-Marie Reynaud, Odile Azagury, Dominique Boivin, Jean Gaudin and François Raffinot.
In this piece, premiered at the Faits d'Hiver 2008 festival, Andrea Sitter celebrates, through her narrative dance, the linguistic and cultural diversity she acquired and that inspire her work.
With an explosive energy that borders on an irresistible humour, the choreographer alternates between joy and fear in a self-ironic voyage through her personal memories.
