Youth Theatre and Portuguese language and culture meet once again in project K Cena. Started in 2012 by Teatro Viriato, this project has counted upon the partnership and cultural exchange of Teatro Vila Velha (Salvador / Bahia, Brazil) and Instituto Camões/ Centro Cultural Português - Pólo do Mindelo, Cape Verde). From 2018 onwards Teatro Nacional São João and Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II will also take part in this endeavour, bringing new additions and activities to the entire edition that complement the usual three plays (one for each country involved). In Viseu, it will be up to stage director Graeme Pulleyn to guide the participants through the discovery of theatre and the work of an actor. Promoting Portuguese language through theatre and fostering the interaction between youngsters of different nationalities, cultural realities and contexts are still the principal goals of K Cena.
