After a first edition centred on the city of Viseu, Teatro Viriato's K Cena expands its scope abroad towards other Portuguese speaking countries. Mindelact - Associação Artística e Cultural de Cabo Verde's (Cape Verde) stage director João Branco and Teatro Vila Velha de Salvador - Bahia's (Brazil), stage director Márcio Meirelles are the new international partners of this project. It's this next edition's prerogative to present an opportunity for young people of different cultural realities and contexts, but nonetheless sharing the same tongue, to exchange, through indirect contact, experiences with each other.
K Cena tries to stir in its participants the taste and curiosity for theatre writing and performing, promoting the valorisation of Portuguese language while seeking the acknowledgement of both this dialect and of Theatre as a means of personal/interpersonal enrichment and of identity building.
