Two generations of Portuguese musicians gather under a logic of balance and dialogue between different influences and between writing and improvisation. From this meeting emerged Volta, a music record published by JACC Records in June, now presented in concert with special guest drummer José Salgueiro.
A principal figure in the last 30 years of Portuguese music, José Peixoto has worked as musician, arranger and writer with some of the greatest names of national music. His latest project, El Fad (with two records published between 2008 and 2010), won the 2011 Carlos Paredes award with the album Lunar. António Quintino is a young double bass player that has been proving himself in several different contexts, while his musical background has one foot in jazz and another in classical music.
