THEATER
Premiere
In 2015, stage director Sónia Barbosa started research for a theatrical creation based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. After two residencies and two informal presentations of the work she had already developed, Sónia Barbosa shares the latest moment - the one representing the culmination of all her research.
Starting from the idea that each man is his own lord and master, a product of his own choices and conscience, Ivan Karamazov puts himself above the concepts of good and evil. But from this perception sprouts that most horrid crime of all: parricide.
The stage director deftly tackles the character´s themes and development throughout the novel.
