A performative project that results from the scientific, artistic and poetic intertwining of various disciplines navigated by Joana Craveiro and by the artistic practices of Teatro do Vestido. Anthropology, Theatre, Performance, Archives, Biology, Gardening, History, Restoration, Forgetfulness, Ancestry. This project starts with observation, with hearing and recording the relationships with 'the other' - the subject of anthropology, that deserves to be critically questioned and deconstructed in our present world. In this poetic solo piece, co-created with Tânia Guerreiro, Joana Craveiro uses her field work from four months in the USA, as a source for meeting this 'other', namely her listening to the life stories of Chief Vincent Mann and Clan Mother Michaeline Picaro Mann, from the Ramapough Lenape Nation, a native people from the New York and New Jersey regions. She adds to this a set of field journals and monographs - observation records that should be neutral, but can never truly be.
