Inspired by the intricate connection between juggling and magic, “Heka” (also the name of the god o magic in Ancient Egypt) transports audiences into a mesmerizing universe that blurs the borders between reality and illusion. The show invites everyone to take part in a journey where objects appear and disappear, levitate and transform in front of our very eyes. Here’s the question, though: what is real, and what is just an optical illusion?
Mixing humour and philosophy, “Heka” is another landmark on the already famed repertoire of Gandini Juggling. The company’s director, Sean Gandini, whose artistic career started in Havana half a century ago, revisits his magical roots in this hybrid show that is, above all else, a celebration of silliness and an homage to the exquisiteness of the absurd.
