MASTERCLASS
Cinema is a polysemic festivity, a socially relevant event in which learning is achieved through the senses. This master-class tries to read cinema without the boundaries of genres, one can speak of documentary cinema or fictional cinema, but in truth there is only cinema. Thinking about cinema helps reflect critically and creatively upon life.
If, on the one hand, a documentary movie speaks to us of the "real", a fictional one paves a path towards the "imaginary". The author and the spectator are both involved with a movie's creation of meaning and in this link the spectator adapts his/hers reading mode, fictional or documentary, following the capabilities granted to him/her.
In that sense, it's necessary to continue thinking about Cinema. Director Pedro Sena Nunes presents in Viseu a long pedagogic experience on the engineering and construction of a film dimension. That will allow him to develop an open conversation with all participants of this master-class.
