"Trilogia das Cores", by Filipe Raposo, is the culmination of an artistic reflection on the influence of colour throughout History and over his own career as a musician: red (Øcre vol.1), black (Øbsidiana vol.2) and white (Variações do Brancø vol.3). In his body of work, colour appears as the key to his creative and compositional process, evoking the very birth of art, and thusly, attaining a metaphorical and symbolic dimension.
In this record, he once again returns to the dialogue between North and South - to the sounds that bring both geographies together, but also keep them apart. From melismatic melodies that remind us of the south, to the minimalistic harmonies influenced by the cold silences and long, white-covered, winters of the frozen north.
